On this day, the spotlight traditionally falls on the medieval period of Buda Castle.
Medieval music, live historical reenactments, and a spectacular parade await visitors.
Historical reenactors bring the daily life of the medieval court to life and will guide you through the challenges. The ceremonial atmosphere is enhanced by flag spinners, while jesters and fair performers provide lively entertainment.

Come and explore the fascinating moments of medieval Buda with us!

Selections from Our Medieval Collection:
At the “object touch table,” visitors will have the opportunity to get a closer look at everyday items from the Gothic castle by exploring highlights from our Medieval Collection. Artifacts made of wood, bone, and ceramics from the 14th to 16th centuries will be on display. In addition to learning about the objects, participants can design their own coat of arms and stove tiles, as well as try out medieval dice games.

Restoration Workshop:
As part of the Medieval Castle Day, visitors can also attend a live restoration demonstration. Silicate and metal conservators will showcase the tools and materials used in their work, offering insight into how different types of archaeological finds are preserved. Adventurous visitors will also have the chance to test their manual skills by creating small replicas of artifacts.

Become an archaeologist for a little while and uncover a Gothic “find”!
